This article discusses the physiological aspects of psychological depression. This research indicates that a combination of inactivity, poor patient compliance, and a greater incidence of smoking among depressed people contributes to their risk of heart disease. This research was published in the November 26, 2008 issue of the "Journal of the American Medical Association."
