The author discusses the stress and hypervigilance of teachers during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Topics explored include the attitude of teachers towards the transition to remote learning at the start of the pandemic, the need for teachers to practice self-care in addition to mindfulness, and the safety concerns due to the increase in COVID-19 cases which may be attributed to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variant Omicron.
